Shake up your spring office style and trade the blazer for a denim jacket.
When you’re trying to decide what to wear to work tomorrow, remember that it’s April, which on HSS means it’s denim month. And while you could certainly opt for the in-between dress pant, why not swap the usual blazer for one of our favorite pieces of lightweight spring outerwear?
Here’s one way to work a denim jacket into your workweek style rotation.
A denim jacket (or “jean” jacket, if you prefer, though that always reminds me of middle school…) is one of those classic items that never goes out of style. A great layering piece during the fall and winter months, spring is the time to allow it to shine on its own.
Wear it in place of a blazer with a simple workweek outfit to add a little high/low edge to your style and some depth and texture. Works well towards the end of the week – maybe Friday? – if you’ve got a hot date right after work and want to look good but not too dressed up.
Pay tribute to spring with some seasonal colors and fabrics. A pink button-up shirt with a light beige textured silk tie is a great early spring combination.
