Simply Classic: Spring Business Casual

March 28th, 2016

Keep it simple: plaid blazer, navy pants, white button-down shirt, knit tie. Done.

What should you wear to work tomorrow? Obviously, this is a personal decision, but we’re in the inspiration business here. Here’s a simple spring business casual outfit built around pieces you probably already have in your closet.

What’s the one thing you should be looking for when thinking about purchasing any staple wardrobe items? Repeat after me: versatility. If there’s one message to take away from the HSS playbook, it’s that. And if you build a smart suit wardrobe, you may even wear certain pieces more often as separates, which, for me, has been the case with this plaid blazer.

The best part about classic menswear pieces, is that they look good on literally any guy. But – yes, there’s a but – they will only look great, if they’re tailored properly. So do yourself a favor and find a good tailor and have him/her work a little magic.

By the way, if you’re confused about the differences between a suit jacket, blazer and sport coat, we’re working on an article to answer that question. Stay tuned.
