Light Layers: The Half Zip Sweater

October 10th, 2013

Men have no shortage of options when it comes to choosing a sweater. The V-neck, crewneck, cardigan, and turtleneck are four staple sweaters that every guy should have in his wardrobe. The half zip sweater, on the other hand, is one that we frequently see in stores and online, always seems like a good idea to purchase, but can admittedly be somewhat puzzling to style. Now that sweater weather is in full swing, here’s a look that offers some inspiration on how to wear a half zip sweater this fall.

With a V-neck, crewneck, cardigan, or turtleneck sweater, it’s fairly cut and dry in terms of knowing how to dress it up or dress it down. Though a half zip sweater is slightly more casual and sporty, it can also work as part of a more dressed up look.

Half zip sweaters are usually fairly thin, which makes them ideal layering pieces. Wear it as an outer layer over a button up shirt with or without a tie or throw on a blazer if it’s a little cooler outside.
