Even if we don’t admit it to ourselves, we all like to stand out a little. That could mean having a uniform of sorts, a signature detail, or just something that’s identifiable as you in your daily dress. One easy way to stand out without “standing out” in the sense of going overboard, is to go monochromatic. I’ve done a fair bit of monochromatic dressing on the blog—see here and here for navy, here and here for black, and here for grey. Summer is a great time to go lighter and brighter and here’s one way to work in neutrals.

White Out - He Spoke Style

Two big summer staples to talk about here. First, white denim. A perfect example of a way to stand out without going big and bold with bright color. I actually have two pairs of white denim jeans. One is straight up white, while these A.P.C.s, which I picked up on sale at a deep discount a couple years ago, are slightly off-white.

Second, white leather sneakers. Crisp, clean, stylish, and smart. Every summer I seem to have a go-to pair of shoes—last summer it was these loafers—and this summer it has been these Common Projects kicks, with these suede loafers running a very close second.
