7FAM x Movember

A couple of outside forces conspired to prevent me from growing out a mustache this month, but thankfully that doesn’t stop me from doing my part to bring awareness to the Movember cause. I’ve teamed up with 7 For All Mankind to style their limited edition Movember jean—$20 from every pair sold is donated to the charity—and get the word out about some very important men’s health issues. And in the absence of a Mo, I thought I’d feature something just as badass: my motorcycle.

Since 2003, Movember has sought to change the face of men’s health via the power of the mustache. It’s main goal is to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues, including prostate and testicular cancer. This cause has a very special meaning and resonance with me. About five years ago, my father was diagnosed with and subsequently beat prostate cancer. Also not long ago, a close friend of mine found that he had testicular cancer. Thankfully, he also won his battle.

The fact that my buddy and I are the same age really drove home the importance of being aware of and educated about these issues. I’d like to think that charities like Movember have helped heighten that awareness, which is why I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to help spread the word.
