Four spring style must-haves
In partnership with Peter Millar.
Spring is right around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about changing up your wardrobe. Heavier fabrics and big coats to the back of the closet, lighter and brighter items to the front.
Here are four spring style essentials we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more of as the weather warms up.
Suede jacket. Spring is the perfect time for a lightweight suede jacket. That is, as long as there is no rain in the forecast. When it comes to investing in a suede coat, the simpler and more classic the design, the better. Not only will it always look great, but it is way more versatile.
There are lots of options when it comes to suede jackets. A “safari-style” jacket is iconic and rugged, yet refined. The patch pockets and button-through flaps are a handsome touch. Perfect for a daily urban adventure.
Denim shirt. You already know I’m a huge fan of denim button-ups. It is the ultimate “convertible” shirt. Wear it with a tie for show off a little stylish ease and then simply lose the tie and you’ve got a great off-duty, after work going out look. If a denim shirt sounds uncomfortable, you’re not thinking about one that’s made from high-quality cotton.
Lightweight scarf. A lightweight scarf is a year-round accessory. For spring, swap your silk scarf for a cotton and linen blend. And rather than wearing it traditionally, tuck it into your shirt as an ascot. Remember to unbutton one extra button to pull this look off.
White denim. Again, though we consider white denim to be seasonally agnostic, there really is no better time to break out a pair than springtime. They’re crisp, clean, and very slick. Plus, they look great with just about any color, especially blues and tans.
Thanks, as always, for reading.
