A polo shirt is a summer menswear staple. It’s simple, stylish, and surprisingly versatile. Here’s a roundup of three different ways I styled one of my favorite polos recently.
1. Just the Basics
| WEARING | Uniqlo x Michael Bastian polo (last season, NEW), J.Crew chinos, Christy’s hat, Timex watch, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Bag c/o Gorjana and Griffin (old, similar HERE), 7 For All Mankind sweatshirt, Belt c/o Coach, To Boot New York loafers
Classic and clean. It doesn’t get much simpler or easier than pairing a polo with some khaki chinos. This is your classic “every day” casual outfit for traveling or just around town. Kick it up a notch with a pair of suede loafers and a felt fedora. Click here to see more of this look.
2. Layered Up
| WEARING | Reiss sweater (old, similar HERE), Uniqlo x Michael Bastian polo (last season, NEW), J.Crew jeans, Common Projects sneakers (more affordable HERE)
Layering is something we often don’t want to think about in the summer, but sometimes when the AC’s set to ‘Arctic,’ it can become a necessity. Keeping your layers light and your colors bright is key to pulling off summer layering. Click here to see more of this look.
3. Casually Dapper
| WEARING | Reiss blazer (old, similar HERE), Uniqlo x Michael Bastian polo, J.Crew chinos, Goorin Bros. hat (similar HERE), Ray-Ban sunglasses, Timex watch, Pocket square c/o Zegna, Loafers c/o Coach
Not all polo shirts were meant to be worn under a blazer. Take your classic piqué polo, for example. Reason: the collar. If you want to wear a polo under a blazer, make sure it’s got a stronger collar. Button down collars help. Click here to see more of this look.
