Trench Coat Style: 3 Ways to Wear It

March 30th, 2016

Get your style ready for April showers with a classic trench coat.

Spring outerwear is an entirely different beast than fall/winter outerwear. For the spring, lightweight is the name of the game.

Today, we’re highlighting three ways to wear one of the menswear’s most classic lightweight outerwear pieces: the trench coat. Hey, April showers are right around the corner!

THE MORE YOU KNOW: Where did trench coats originate?

1. Classic Business

A trench coat always looks great paired with a suit. For me, it’s an archetypal business look complete with a bit of old Hollywood style and sophistication. Never a bad choice.

2. Business Casual

For business/sharp casual outfits, a shorter trench is a good option. It’s less formal than the classic version and is a little bit easier to style in a variety of settings. A great option for a day at the office followed by a happy hour drinks date.

3. Weekend Ready

Trench coats aren’t just for the day-to-day work grind. Repurpose it for a casual weekend outing for some edgy high/low style.
