Named after a small island north of Scotland, fair isle is a knitting technique used to create one of fall's most recognizable patterns. Nothing says or looks like warmth to me more than a fair isle sweater and now that the days have started to get chillier, I'm happy to be breaking out one of my favorite pieces. Here's a simple and sharp layered look that's perfect for any cool fall day. VIEW MORE ▶︎
While I would classify just about everything in Venice as must see, one thing you definitely do not want to miss—and actually can't miss unless you take a serious detour—is Piazza San Marco. It is Venice's main public square and is absolutely breathtaking. In person it doesn't even look real, though the pigeons can quickly snap you back to reality. Here's a look I thought matched the location well that we shot during a fun late afternoon walk around prior to a dinner with my friend Roberta from Luxottica. VIEW MORE ▶︎

Here's a situation for you: If you found out on Monday that you'd be leaving on Thursday for a weekend in Venice what would you pack? That's the set of circumstances I found myself in a couple weeks ago when I was invited to attend the Atelier Persol launch event. Having to quickly decide what to pack for the trip got me thinking about the concept of the go bag—not so much in the survival sense, but more in terms of that if this kind of opportunity arises again, having a blueprint beforehand isn't such a bad idea as it can definitely help relieve a lot of pre-travel stress. Here's one look that made it into my Venice go bag. VIEW MORE ▶︎
A change in season means a change in wardrobe. Transitioning from summer to fall, that means trading short sleeves for long sleeves, shorts for full length pants, and lighter fabrics for heavier ones with some texture. I always enjoy packing one season's clothing up and moving on to the next—especially when it's from summer to fall. For me, it's a chance to reveal something new and keep my style fresh. Here's a look with a piece I've been dying to break out, my grey tweed suit. Men's Style Blog Fashion Grooming He Spoke Style VIEW MORE ▶︎
It's always important to remember that when you buy a suit, you're not just buying a suit. Each piece can be taken and utilized as a separate as well. I'm a big advocate for versatility and getting the most out of your wardrobe so learning to get creative with each part of your suit as a separate will maximize the return on your investment. Here's a smart look for fall that uses my brown suit jacket as a separate. VIEW MORE ▶︎

In general, I'm a fan of playing by the rules but in terms of style, rules should be viewed as suggested guidelines that are open to interpretation rather than a non-negotiable contract. Although there's something to be said for knowing the rules, there's no rule that says that rules can't be broken. And in the case of forbidding white after Labor Day, there is definitely an exception to be made. Here's one way to do it. VIEW MORE ▶︎
