Tying a tie, and specifically dimpling a tie, is one of those menswear details that can often seem mysterious. It's also one of those things that we see—at least on guys who do it well—that just seems so effortless and tossed off. Like, it either happens or it doesn't. Nothing could be further from the truth. I've talked before about how dress codes can sometimes be fairly unclear. Black tie is relatively cut and dry, but others like business casual and even semi-formal leave plenty of room for interpretation. And then there are some that don't seem to make much sense at all. With holiday party season in full swing and New Year's Eve on the way, it's entirely possible that you might see this dress code on an invitation in the near future. Maybe you already have. Here's some inspiration for that situation or any more formal holiday party you might attend. VIEW MORE ▶︎
Men have no shortage of options when it comes to choosing a sweater. The V-neck, crewneck, cardigan, and turtleneck are four staple sweaters that every guy should have in his wardrobe. The half zip sweater, on the other hand, is one that we frequently see in stores and online, always seems like a good idea to purchase, but can admittedly be somewhat puzzling to style. Now that sweater weather is in full swing, here's a look that offers some inspiration on how to wear a half zip sweater this fall. VIEW MORE ▶︎
A change in season means a change in wardrobe. Transitioning from summer to fall, that means trading short sleeves for long sleeves, shorts for full length pants, and lighter fabrics for heavier ones with some texture. I always enjoy packing one season's clothing up and moving on to the next—especially when it's from summer to fall. For me, it's a chance to reveal something new and keep my style fresh. Here's a look with a piece I've been dying to break out, my grey tweed suit. Men's Style Blog Fashion Grooming He Spoke Style VIEW MORE ▶︎
As far as fashion from the 1980s goes, I'm happy not spending too much time looking back at it. However, one of the era's lasting sartorial symbols should have a home in every man's wardrobe: the power suit. While the power suit's classic styling—boxy, rigid, big shoulder pads—might not be something to embrace at this moment in time, its ethos of confidence and success are timeless and transcendent values. Here's an updated and modern expression of the power suit. VIEW MORE ▶︎
