In the unlikely event you get into an accident, you’re always glad you have insurance though it’s not something you use or think about regularly (other than your monthly payment). Similarly, living in a place where it snows infrequently, snow boots are generally the last kind of footwear on your mind. I thought about this last week when it snowed and was thankful that at some point I had acquired a pair.
