We had a snow day earlier this week. It may snow a handful of times around here each winter, but it never really amounts to anything substantial. As a matter of fact, the last time I remember a significant accumulation was Snowmagedden in 2010. As a result, other than being prepared for some bitter cold weather, which we’ve definitely been having our fill of this year, thinking about dressing for the snow is not something I do on a regular basis. Here’s how I bundled up for Wednesday’s snow day.
A beanie is not something I reach for on a regular basis, but in certain situations—like, the middle of a snowstorm with downright frigid temperatures and 20mph winds—it’s the only hat that will do. And one of my favorite winter scarves becomes not just something to warm my neck, but also to cover my face.
Having the right footwear for foul winter weather is essential. You may only wear them a handful of times each winter, but when the snow starts falling you’re always glad that you’ve made the investment. For me, nothing beats a pair of classic Bean Boots.
