3 Ways to Style a Khaki Cotton Blazer
A navy blazer is a wardrobe staple for most of us guys, and you can kind one in most shades and fabrics. But a cotton blazer, specifically a khaki cotton one, is a great choice when spring rolls around.
So, as we’re transitioning in the warmer months of year, here are three simple ways to style it.
1. The Too Easy
This is a great look when you want something simple, but still put-together. And, a good reminder you don’t need to overthink things.
A khaki cotton blazer, white shirt, and navy cotton pants are a classic spring combination. This one is elevated by the pick stitching and the tortoise shell buttons for extra contrast. I also always recommend patch pockets on jacket separates. They balance it out a little and keep the more relaxed, casual vibe going.
On the wrist is the stunning Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle, and we’ve anchored the look with suede tassel loafers.
2. The Sporty One
Spring is a great time to pair blazers and jeans, if you’re into that sort of thing. A khaki cotton blazer works really well with denim- both fabrics have a casual feel to them and play well off each other.
Keeping the look light and sporty, I paired some of my favorite light wash jeans (the 484 fit from J.Crew) with a lightweight cashmere crew neck sweater. While this does add another fabric to the equation, I find it elevates the look while keeping it simple- almost like an athletic sweatshirt.
The finishing touches I also kept sporty-watch is my Omega Speedmaster on a brown suede strap. Sunglasses are the Oliver Peoples Banks. And finished off with the ever-so-versatile Common Projects white leather sneakers.
3. The In-Between
If you Google ‘khaki cotton blazer outfits for men’, a good amount of the first images results are from a post we did way back in 2013. This outfit is kind of a contemporary homage to that. I suppose it speaks to just how simple, versatile pieces can have such longevity- especially when you’re building a wardrobe with them.
This is a little more dressed-up way to pair a khaki blazer and jeans. We’ve got darker denim and a button-up shirt. And, I swapped the sneakers for a pair of leather derbies- that great balance in a more ‘casual’ dress shoe. The classic Clubmaster frames are a pair you can dress up or down and straddle that line really well.
Which of these looks was your favorite?
