5 Essential Jackets For Your Fall Wardrobe

Rounding up the best fall jackets of 2019

Have you felt the chill in the morning air recently? Ah, yes, fall is here (or just around the corner). Fall is one of the best seasons for menswear, in my opinion, because of fabrics like flannel and tweed, layering, scarves, and of course, outerwear. Today, I’m rounding up five essential jackets you need to have this fall.

3/4-Length Trench

First u, we have the three-quarter length trench coat. This, for me, is much more versatile choice than a full length trench. It’s very easy to dress up as shown here in a classic fall business outfit. But it’s also extremely simple to wear in a more casual setting as well.

Tweed Sportcoat

Next, we’re taking you to school with a great tweed sportcoat. This is actually part of a suit. In fact, it’s from the very first suit I had made by Michael Andrews Bespoke back in 2014. Its heavy weight makes it perfect as a fall transitional outerwear piece.

Leather Bomber

Every guy should own a simple leather jacket. No fancy zippers (or any other bells and whistles, for that matter). Just plain and classic. Choosing one with those attributes will ensure that you’ll be able to wring maximum versatility out of it. Though it’s almost too easy to style in a casual way…

Suede Jacket

Next, we have a suede jacket. I like this as a very sort of luxe and refined option to add to a casual outerwear collection. Suede, with its texture, look, and the way it feels, is such a great way to elevate your outerwear game. Also, as you get older, it’s a nice way to differentiate and show that your style has matured as much as you have.

The Shacket

Finally we have the shirt jacket or as it is sometimes called, the “shacket”. This definitely skews more toward the casual side of things, but it is possible challenge the notion that this is only a casual piece of outerwear. See above for the result.
