Tweed Waistcoat

Brian Sacawa

Need an easy way to dress up an ordinary look? Just add a waistcoat. Here’s a look using the waistcoat from my tweed three-piece suit as a separate.

Alone, a checked button-down shirt and pair of dark chinos is sharp, but fairly plain—even with the addition of a knit tie. Add a waistcoat to the mix, however, and you’ve suddenly transformed ordinary into dapper. Make sure your waistcoat fits snuggly around your torso, and never button the bottom button.
