Every season, there are certain items that I gravitate towards on a daily basis. They’re usually very simple, staple pieces that will work a variety of ways and in a variety of situations. Here are five of my favorites this summer.
1. Straw Panama Hat
Casual, cool, elegant, dapper. A lightweight straw panama hat has been my headwear of choice this summer. Cheers to my buddy Alex from the West Village Goorin Bros. shop for dialing in this hat’s fit for me. Drop by and I guarantee he’ll get you right.
2. Polo Shirt
Nothing simpler than throwing on a great fitting polo in the morning. The shirts from the Uniqlo x Michael Bastian collaboration are among my favorites for fit, styling, and details, like a deep placket and button down collar.
3. Sunglasses
Although I have a few pairs of sunglasses, I always come back to my favorite Ray-Ban Clubmasters. End of story.
4. Suede Driving Loafers
Summer and loafers go hand in hand for me. And every year I have a pair that I nearly wear out. Last summer it was the Allen Edmonds Grand Cayman, and this year it’s been these suede drivers last seen here and here.
5. Classic Eau de Cologne
The more I dive into the world of fragrance, the more I’ve come to figure out what makes a scent compelling and intriguing to me. The biggest factor is that it has to smell natural. Seasons also come into play. I like something a little earthy and heavier in the fall, something lighter in the spring. And this summer, the classic Acqua di Parma hits all the right notes for me.
