This time of year is always my favorite time to be in NYC. There’s a different kind of energy and the holiday decorations — whether a small tree in the hotel lobby or the windows at Bergdorf’s — make it feel warm and inviting no matter how cold it is outside. Since retiring from the Army and transitioning to HSS full time, I’ve made more trips up in the past couple of months than I’d been able to for the last handful of years. I’ve typically been staying in Midtown but decided to give downtown a try this time.
