Style Guide
Find your style for any season or occasion
The Style GuidePlease go to your Measurements page to update your custom sizing based on the fit of the try-on garment(s) you receive. There you will find helpful videos with detailed instructions on how to assess the fit of your try-ons. A ruler, tape measure, chalk and pins will be included to assist you in the process.
You will also receive a return shipping label for the try-ons. Please return the try-on(s) as soon as possible to avoid delays to your order (and other clients’ orders as well). Your final garment(s) will not go into production until the try-on(s) have been returned.
If you received a try-on that does not fit, please email us to request a different try-on size.
What you received is the try-on garment(s). The try-on garments are used for sizing purposes only. This is not your final order.
Based on the information you provided and our client data points from many years of orders, we have determined that a different size try-on is the best starting point from which to adjust your measurements. If you receive the try-ons and determine that the fit is way off, please email us, and we will send a different size.
The jacket measurements displayed on your Measurements page are the finished measurements of the try-on garment(s). The finished measurements will always be bigger than the body measurements taken to allow for comfort and movement. If your finished garment were cut to the same measurements as your body measurements, you wouldn’t be able to move.
You should adjust the measurements from the numbers shown based on how big or small the try-on fits, as outlined in the help videos.
We are working to create help videos for fitting the try-on shirt soon. In the meantime, please review the sizing and measurement chart. You should be able to measure the fit of one of your favorite shirts as a reference.
Please note: circumference measurements (chest, stomach, hips, bicep) should be doubled when measuring a shirt flat.
If you wear a large watch, you may want to add ½” to the wrist measurement for the wrist on which you wear it.
With normal wash and wear, you can generally expect shirts to shrink a total of ¼” in the wrist and neck circumference and ½” in body and sleeve length. If you are concerned about these eventual changes, you can add those amounts to the corresponding measurements.
Unfortunately, this is not possible with made-to-measure garments. This requires drafting a pattern from scratch, which necessitates the bespoke process. If interested, please email us, and we can provide more information.
We’ve been able to lower our prices by streamlining the measuring process and eliminating the video fittings with a member of the Michael Andrews team. While our previous measuring process was arguably the most thorough online custom process available, it required us to charge a higher price than many of our readers could afford. We have done everything possible to get our prices down without sacrificing the quality of our garments.
We are confident that the help videos on your Measurements page should be more than sufficient for creating a garment that will fit well.
It is not possible to go to Michael Andrews to be measured for HSS garments. However, if you place an order with them, we will have access afterward to the measurement records, so you would be able to order from us in the future and get the same fit. This is a great “hack” as you get the benefit of their expertise and our lower prices.
Once you are in the shop, they would also be willing to get your other measurements on file if you might be interested shirts, jackets, or pants in the future.
