‘Tis the season for festive color palates, warm drinks and feelings of comfort. ‘Tis also the season for long work days, crazy schedules, last-minute shopping and feelings of being overwhelmed. Does anyone else find it ironic that a season that’s packed with excitement has the ability to breed such feelings of anxiety?
I, for one, am not going to let the stress of the holidays affect my enjoyment of them this year. No, sir. This year it’s all about putting the excitement back into the Christmas spirit! And the way I’m going to try to do it is with style.
I had something of a minor style epiphany when we were over in Europe a couple weeks ago. And that epiphany had to do with the power that dressing classically and simply with an attention to detail has on my daily outlook on just about everything.
I’ve always been more or less a classic style guy, but hanging out with my friend Giampaolo Alliata reinforced that stance – that classics never go out of style. Dressing that way is easy (for me, at least) because it feels right. And it has an unquestionable effect on my mood – just what I need for the holidays!
I’ve discussed the importance of choosing the right fragrance based on the time of year before. The time of day makes a difference as well. If cologne is the final detail you add to your look, this is something to be sure to pay attention to.
Recently, I’ve been alternating between two fragrances from Lacoste – L.12.12 Blanc and Noir. Both are perfect for the winter season. Blanc is fresh and clean with notes of wood, while Noir is a bit richer with elegant notes of absinthe, chocolate and lavender – perfect for the evening.
Thanks for reading.
