Preparing for the holidays always involves dressing things up. At my house, liberating the Christmas decorations from the basement, stringing the lights up on the porch, and picking out a tree and trimming it are all activities that signal that the holidays are here. There is an element of boldness in most of these holiday displays, so there’s no harm in embracing that festive spirit when thinking about what to wear to a holiday party.
Nothing says fun, festive, and holiday time quite like a big and bold plaid. While there are many ways to play with plaid—a classic tie or trousers, for example—a fun blazer paired with richly textured pants will definitely make a statement.
At the end of the day, it’s important to remember that one aspect of style is to have a little fun every once in a while. A holiday party is an excellent opportunity to go big and bold.
