If there is one thing I look forward to once fall rolls around, it is layering. It’s one of the few times I feel comfortable throwing away my penchant for the idea of less is more in favor of doing more with more. Whether it’s mixing patterns, fabrics, or textures, experimenting with layers and embracing the endless possibilities is one way to broaden your style horizons this fall.
Early fall is all about light layers. A thin sweater or jacket will usually do the trick just fine. However, once the temperatures start to dip choosing heavier fabrics and bulkier outer layers is a necessity. I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been waiting all summer to break out my barn jacket from J.Crew. It’s stylish, rugged, casual, and a true classic.
