Summer may have unofficially ended yesterday, but it doesn’t “legally” end until September 23. So that means we’ve got at least a couple good weeks to squeeze a little more out of our favorite summer pieces before transitioning to fall in earnest.
A cotton khaki suit should be one of your go-to summer suits. Breathable and lightweight for the heat and versatile enough to be worn to the office as well as out and about. At the tail end of summer, the khaki color is a great way to start transitioning to fall’s earthier tones.

Since it occupies a position squarely between formal and casual, a khaki cotton suit is a perfect canvas for trying out some styling options you’d probably never consider for your run-of-the-mill four season workhorse suit. A printed shirt keeps it casual, fun and seasonably appropriate.
The sneakers with a suit debate is one that will rage for eternity – or as long as people on the internet want to fight about such things, which, let’s face it, will be forever. Though I’ve been firmly on the don’t do it ever side of the argument, my tastes continue to evolve.
Sneakers with a suit won’t work with every suit or with every pair of sneakers. If you’re going to attempt it, a cotton suit is a natural fit. Just the right amount of casual. And simple white leather sneakers are the right amount of elegant to match.
