It’s always important to remember that when you buy a suit, you’re not just buying a suit. Each piece can be taken and utilized as a separate as well. I’m a big advocate for versatility and getting the most out of your wardrobe so learning to get creative with each part of your suit will maximize the return on your investment. Here’s a smart look for fall that uses my brown suit jacket as a separate.
As I mentioned in my post for Playboy, though I wouldn’t consider a dark brown suit a menswear essential, it’s definitely a great next step once you’ve got your classic suit colors covered. A brown suit, whether worn together or broken up into separates, can really expand your style possibilities. This is especially true during the fall when dark and rich earth tones work extremely well.
A blazer goes a long way when you’re talking about dressing up denim. Another key component is footwear. A great dress boot can absolutely transform a look with denim and is perfect for a night on the town or any time you want to kick it up a notch. The Dalton wingtip dress boot from Allen Edmonds is my absolute favorite.
