Style Guide
Find your style for any season or occasion
The Style GuideI love wearing classic footwear, like cap-toes, wingtips and monk straps, but honestly, sometimes I’m not in the mood. And how I decide to dress on any given morning is very much a reflection of whatever mood I’m in. When I’m short on time, can’t quite make a decision, or just want something comfortable, easy, and that I know works in a variety of settings, I reach for my white leather sneakers.

White sneakers have their own bit of class to them in a way and I’ve always found that they elevate any outfit. Crisp, classic, and clean. It’s their simplicity that makes them so versatile.
I also love combining tailored and casual elements, as you already know. And I’d consider the category “sharp casual” to be a hallmark of my personal style. Though I usually emphasize the sharp part by dressing down a more tailored look, white sneakers highlight the casual.
I wore this to dinner last weekend to a new-ish restaurant with a great chef. I’d been to the restaurant previously, I had an idea of what would be appropriate. I almost walked out of the apartment in my horsebit loafers, but changed to white sneakers at the last minute. It turned out to be a good choice, because I would have felt a bit overdressed otherwise. It’s interesting at how big an effect a simple thing like changing your shoes can have on the entire vibe of an outfit.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
