MoreIn menswear, pocket squares are sort of like the cool music from your teenage years. At least when I was growing up, there was an aura around the kid who knew about the cool bands that nobody else had heard of (at least before they became popular). I’ll date myself here, but if you knew pre-Nevermind Nirvana or were listening to Mother Love Bone before Soundgarden and Pearl Jam blew up on the national scene, you were considered a clairvoyant and maybe even a god.
A similar association can be made for the gentleman with the unique, hard to find, or even one-of-a-kind pocket square. And even if the clairvoyant/god allegory is a bit of a stretch, that man can induce a supreme amount of envy amongst other like-minded sartorial enthusiasts.
