Before I knew anything about fashion or style, I was able to recognize and identify one of the most iconic color schemes and patterns: the classic Burberry check. The people I’d see wearing it always looked so elegant and confident.
Of the garments adorned by that check, none are perhaps more famous than the Burberry scarf. The classic version is 100% cashmere, woven on traditional looms in the Scottish towns of Elgin and Ayr and finished by hand using methods that have been passed down for generations.
If you have an icon, you don’t mess with it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t build on its quality and success. Burberry is doing just that with the launch of the Burberry Scarf Bar. For the first time, we’ll all have access to an expanded range of classic and lightweight cashmere designs, prints and monogramming options, as well as 30 colors.
If one thing is certain, it’s that a Burberry scarf is timeless. Definitely check out the Burberry Scarf Bar online or in store and should you consider investing in one for yourself, here are five different looks for a little inspiration.
1. All Business
Classics never go out of style. Grey suit. Check. Crisp white shirt and simple tie. Check. Burberry trench and signature plaid scarf. Check.
2. Indian Summer
There’s always a day in late October that’s chilly in the morning, but overly warm in the afternoon. On a day like this, ditch the coat and throw on a light cashmere scarf to keep warm.
3. Edgy Workwear
Go high-low and mix casual pieces with tailored elements for an edgy work look. A denim jacket in place of your suit jacket for those days you’re feeling rebellious.
4. Coffee Date
Nothing looks better (or sexier) than well-fitting basics. Slim dark denim, a tailored blue button up, and classic cap toes. Then, just accessorize simply and smartly. Simple is always stylish.
5. Deep Fall Sharp Casual
When it starts to cool down, one of the easiest knots to tie when you’re rushing out of the house is the Parisian knot.
