Back to Basics

For easy and basic fall style, it doesn’t get much simpler than this. A white button down shirt, khaki chinos, and navy blazer are three wardrobe essentials that never go out of style and always look great together. Here’s a simple and classic look that puts a few great basics as well as the maxim ‘less is more’ to work.

Brooks Brothers Patch Pocket Blazer

I have to say that I have been beyond impressed with the Brooks Brothers Red Fleece collection. Definitely take a look if you haven’t had a chance yet. And I’m not talking just about the styling, but also the fit. Although I love the quality of classic Brooks Brothers offerings, I’ve found that I always need a few alterations even with the slimmer modern fits like the Milano. However, the Red Fleece patch pocket blazer I’m wearing is straight off the rack and didn’t require any nips or tucks.

I’ve written about patch pockets before. My double-breasted blazer has them. They are great for casual looks and also when you plan to be on the go. I love the easy access to my car keys, phone, sunglasses, plane or train ticket.
