Ooh, Fancy: Welcome To Formalwear Month on HSS!

March 3rd, 2017
I

It’s going to be a black tie affair…

Dressing formally is the kind of thing that’s really fun to daydream about – how sweet would it be to wear a tuxedo or off-white dinner jacket to some event? – but when the opportunity to actually wear formalwear arises, it always seems like, oh crap, I thought a lot about this but I don’t actually 1) know what to do or 2) have anything that would be acceptable for that dress code. Because, really, how often do you get a black tie invitation?

That’s why we’re declaring March “Formalwear Month” here at HSS.

Throughout the month of March, we’re going to be breaking down as many aspects of formalwear as we can, showing you some classic ways to approach formal dressing (as well as some creative ones), while giving you the tools and knowledge you need to do formalwear with confidence and style.

Full disclosure: it’s going to be about a week before you see any formalwear content on the site. Two reasons. First, we want to make sure to take your requests and suggestions into consideration. And, second, we’ve been really busy planning some exciting things for the fall.

So, now is the time to let us know: what formalwear coverage would you like to see from us this month? What are your burning questions? What do you need clarified? Chime in below!

Thanks for reading.
