What’s your style sweet spot? For me, it’s when I’m mixing up casual and dressy elements. I call it sharp casual or casual tailoring, but whatever name you have for it, it’s an easy way to look good every day with minimal effort. Blazer, button-up shirt, dark jeans, nice shoes. Done.

By far, one of my favorite blazers of the summer is this light blue wool, silk, and linen number from Suitsupply. It’s office-appropriate and works just as well as a tailored counterpoint to a pair of slim black denim.
Don’t forget that black denim is your in-between dress pant. Wear it as a slightly dressier alternative to your standard dark blue pair. Great for an office to happy hour transition or on a first (or second) date, when you want to look good but not as though you’re trying too hard.
Speaking of dates, if your aim is to impress – and it had better be! – make sure you’re wearing a great pair of shoes. After your face and smile, it’s the next thing she’s going to look at. Poor quality footwear is a dead giveaway for a style novice. Good shoes are often a bit of investment, but it’s one worth making.
