A cardigan may not be the first sweater you think to buy, but it is definitely one that you should have in your closet. It’s an extremely versatile piece that can be styled a variety of ways for a variety of situations and occasions. Here’s one way to wear a cardigan casually.
Think of a cardigan as a casual alternative to a blazer. If you’re just going out to hang with a few friends, a blazer may be a bit too dressed up depending on the destination. A cardigan, on the other hand, will still give you that extra layer—for both style and warmth—but will appear softer and more relaxed.
If you’re considering buying your first cardigan, choose one in a solid neutral color so you’re able to easily pair it with other pieces you already own. You can’t go wrong with navy or grey. Make sure it fits snug to your body so you can wear it under a blazer and doesn’t fall too far below your belt line when buttoned.
