11 summer songs currently reaching for that elusive No. 1 summer jam status

Even if you don’t particularly care for pop music – confession: it’s a guilty pleasure – you’ve got to admit that there’s something about pop music in the summer that is downright infectious.

Maybe it’s because if you turn your local Top 40 radio station on you’re likely to hear the same five songs every hour? Or maybe it’s just because the general fun factor of summertime lends itself to embracing some fun, silly and sometimes absolutely stupid music.

However, there’s always that one song that somehow seeps so far into the cultural consciousness that it becomes “The Song of the Summer” or, better yet, “The No. 1 Summer Jam.”

The No. 1 Summer jam embodies the feeling of summer. It’s the one you’ll listen to in 10 years and still remember how amazing that particular summer was.
