Your “In-Between” Dress Pant: Black Denim

October 6th, 2014
O

One of my favorite “styles” of dress is what I like to call sharp casual. It’s a mix of casual and tailored elements and possibly the style I sport most frequently here on HSS. More times than not, this involves dressing up some slim dark blue denim. It’s a classic look that’s easy to pull off. However, when I’m looking for something slightly dressier, but don’t want to wear dress pants, that’s when I turn to my favorite “in-between” dress pant: a pair of black denim.

Remember that like your standard blue denim, black denim will fade over time as well. My favorite pair of Levi’s 511s has gotten just a bit too “off-black” to dress up quite the way I want to sometimes. I recently picked up a new pair of Hudsons in Jet Black from the expansive selection at Nordstrom and couldn’t be happier.

Now that fall is in finally here, it’s time to start thinking about changing up your fabrics. I’ve been waiting all summer to break out some my favorite wool pieces like this lightweight wool blazer and one of my favorite wool ties.
