Over the years, my approach to vacations has changed drastically. I used to be someone who would plan out each day, drawing up an exhaustive agenda of activities so I’d be sure to experience everything the destination had to offer. These days, however, vacation is all about comfort, relaxation, and doing absolutely nothing. I need time to recharge and I’ve found that sitting by the pool all day at a resort on Poipu Beach looking at the palm trees, listening to the ocean, and sipping cocktails is the way to go. It may only be April, which means vacation is a few months away, but teaming up with OluKai has got me dreaming of Hawaii.
OluKai is actually a combination of two Hawaiian words—olu, which means comfort, and kai, meaning ocean—both of which are central details to my vacations. And while there are many approaches to vacation or resort style, I think we can all agree comfort is one of the most important elements. For me, that means packing lighter fabrics and a few more casual items like t-shirts. As always, it’s important to remember that comfort and style do not need to be mutually exclusive. How do you stay comfortable and stylish on vacation?
