The plaid flannel shirt. For those of us who came of age in the early to mid-90s, it holds a special place in our hearts. Emblematic of the “Seattle Scene” and the birth of grunge, it can still be a viable garment now that we’re all 20 years older. The difference is in how you style it.
Here’s a simple casual fall weekend outfit idea for a plaid flannel shirt.

Making a plaid flannel shirt more mature is all in the styling. Back in high school, it was all about the untucked, devil-may-care attitude. But these days, I prefer to keep it clean and more legit. There’s something to be said for dressing your age.
Keep it tucked in a nice pair of jeans and finish the look off with a “grown up” jacket and pair of shades. You’ll be all set for a casual weekend coffee date or just looking a little more put together than the rest of the guys at the bar watching football.
Footwear anchors every outfit. So make sure you’re on your game. A light-colored pair of desert boots are always a stylish, no-fuss casual option.
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.
