Moving forward can we proclaim Casual Fridays to be Business Casual Fridays?
If there’s one thing that’s helped to erode the idea that dressing well matters, it’s the concept of Casual Fridays. Well, that and our old friend athleisure, though I would advance the notion that the rise of one is related to the other.
It will be a proud day when I never see another football jersey worn in an office. So, do me a solid: let’s make Casual Fridays, Business Casual Fridays.
Business casual, like sharp casual, is an extremely easy way to dress that always looks great. A couple tailored items, like a blazer and pants, are all it takes. No tie necessary.
This is a no-brainer style of dressing for Fridays that begin at the office and transition to cocktails and/or dinner after work. Perfect for a date if you don’t have time to run home and change.
Spring is usually the time for brighter colors, but I still can’t get off the brown. If a color works well with your complexion, stick with it. There’s no rule that says you can’t wear earth tones when it gets warmer.
Speaking of getting warmer, that’s something that hasn’t been happening as quickly as some of us had expected. Bad news if you can’t wait to break out the linen. But good news if you’re a fan of leather dress boots.
Thanks for reading.
