Piazza San Marco

While I would classify just about everything in Venice as must see, one thing you definitely do not want to miss—and actually can't miss unless you take a serious detour—is Piazza San Marco. It is Venice's main public square and is absolutely breathtaking. In person it doesn't even look real, though the pigeons can quickly snap you back to reality. Here's a look I thought matched the location well that we shot during a fun late afternoon walk around prior to a dinner with my friend Roberta from Luxottica.  VIEW MORE ▶︎

Serendipity is defined as the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. It's something you can never plan or count on, but when a situation arises it's imperative to have an open mind and be flexible so that a potentially wonderful moment or experience doesn't pass you by. I've had a fair amount of serendipity in my life recently. As I mentioned on Monday, simply being in Venice was fairly serendipitous. Little did I know, there was more to come.  VIEW MORE ▶︎

Here's a situation for you: If you found out on Monday that you'd be leaving on Thursday for a weekend in Venice what would you pack? That's the set of circumstances I found myself in a couple weeks ago when I was invited to attend the Atelier Persol launch event. Having to quickly decide what to pack for the trip got me thinking about the concept of the go bag—not so much in the survival sense, but more in terms of that if this kind of opportunity arises again, having a blueprint beforehand isn't such a bad idea as it can definitely help relieve a lot of pre-travel stress. Here's one look that made it into my Venice go bag.  VIEW MORE ▶︎

He Spoke Style for Persol

Last weekend I was in Venice, Italy with Persol for their Atelier Persol launch event. The campaign invited six artists from different disciplines to create works of art centered around the theme of the Phoenix. It was the latest installment in a series of efforts by a brand that is synonymous with timeless style, elegance, craftsmanship, and heritage. It was humbling to be invited to attend and I am extremely excited to share with you a taste of the event.  VIEW MORE ▶︎

Plaid on Plaid

If you follow me on Instagram you got a sneak peek of this look a couple weeks ago when I was in New York City for an upcoming special project with JackThreads. I'm big on traveling comfortably, yet stylishly and am always keen to express that as the season dictates. Lately, I've found myself drawn overwhelmingly to plaid, which is definitely a fall-appropriate pattern. Because plaid tends to be rather bold it's easy to want to let it make a statement on its own. However, it is possible to combine plaids tastefully. Here's a look that mixes two different plaids—a large and bold one in my Johnston & Murphy shirt with the elegant and subtle windowpane in the jacket from my Reiss three piece suit.  VIEW MORE ▶︎

The Journeyman

Just in time for fall, I'm excited to have teamed up with Reiss for the launch of their AW13 Collection. Focusing on the character of the Journeyman, the collection exudes style and sophistication but also puts a premium on comfort and versatility—two extremely important factors no matter how you're traveling or where you're traveling. Here's a stylish and comfortable look that's perfect for any journey this fall.  VIEW MORE ▶︎
