An Untucked End of Summer?

We call Labor Day the “unofficial” end of summer, but the weather since Monday has been more like the summer we didn’t really have this year. Thinking back on it, I can’t recall any truly miserable days this year, the usual summer kind, full of high heat and oppressive humidity. But we’ve been getting a dose of that all week long. I’ve been trying to stay cool by keeping it loose and casual.

With long pants, I’m never really an untucked kind of guy. A dress shirt untucked just looks sloppy and like you couldn’t decide whether or not to get dressed up. Sorry, bro, it’s the truth. (Incidentally, I plan on doing a post soon rounding up some of my biggest style pet peeves, faux pas, and easy style fixes. Stay tuned for that one.) Though, for me, on a Friday or weekend and feeling casual with a linen shirt, I think it’ll pass muster. Untucked can also work any day of the week if you happen to be Alessandro Squarzi.

Speaking of stylish gentleman, I’ll be heading up to New York Fashion Week today. Other commitments kept me away from the entire event, but I’m glad that I’m getting to go up this weekend. I’ll be hitting several shows as well as catching up with friends. Last year was my first year attending and the inspiration on display is truly, well, inspiring! I’ll probably be fairly active on my social channels so be sure to follow along on Twitter and Instagram if you don’t already.
