Oxblood Leather Jacket

A leather jacket is not only a fall essential, it’s a wardrobe essential. As far as outerwear goes, there is no better piece to project casual, laid back cool or straight up badass than a great fitting leather jacket. Choosing the right one depends as much on your personal style as your personality. Luckily, there are no shortage of great options. Here’s a look featuring my favorite oxblood leather biker jacket.

If you are planning to add a leather jacket to your collection, you have two basic options for acquiring one. First, you can buy new. If you plan on treating the leather jacket as an investment piece, be prepared to lay out some cash for the good stuff. This is definitely something I would advocate for since quality leather will last decades while a cheaper alternative will most certainly have a much shorter lifespan. You can also choose to go the second-hand/vintage avenue.

Both options have merits and drawbacks, and it’s up to you to decide which is the right fit for you and your budget. I have personally gone both routes, and have to say that, like most things, you get what you pay for. Given the choice between a fast acquisition or delaying a little while to save for quality, I will always choose the latter.

When you’re trying on new leather jackets, look for one that fits snugly around the shoulders and torso when zipped. In the case of a biker jacket, the sleeves should also fit rather snug at first. Leather stretches and a jacket that is a bit tight initially will eventually break in and form to your body. There’s nothing like the feel and comfort of broken in leather. Readers who have invested in a pair of quality leather shoes know exactly what I’m talking about.
