Answer: Outfit Of The Day

OOTD, or Outfit Of The Day, is a common abbreviation used in hashtag form, primarily on Instagram. It is a variant of WIWT (What I Wore Today) and is used in a fashion context for someone to indicate to others what they are wearing or have worn.

Photos of the OOTD variety are often selfies taken in a full length mirror or a hastily snapped photo on the street with mobile phone’s camera.

However, fashion bloggers have often been known to repurpose SLR photos on Instagram using the hashtag #OOTD.

Sometimes, a gridded photo layout will be used – especially in a menswear context – to show various aspects of the outfit in one Instagram square.

In photos of this nature, you may see a full length/chest details/shoe combination, a three-quarters/watch/shoes combination, a full length/three-quarters double, and so on. There are many variants of this style of Instagram photo.
